COVID Cases Continue to Rapidly Rise Across Alabama

Three Alabama counties accounted for around 40% of the state’s COVID cases going from Tuesday into Wednesday.

The Alabama Department of Public Health reported their most recent data shows the state added 3,851 COVID-19 cases since over the time period, bringing the total since March of 2020 to 619,752.  The state added 41 deaths bringing that total to 11.689.  Death reports typically lag behind, sometimes as much as weeks, based on the length of the investigation.

Three counties – Baldwin, Jefferson and Mobile – added the greatest number of cases for a combined total of 1,397.  Baldwin County reported 284 cases, Jefferson 464, and Mobile 649.  Cherokee County has now had a total of 2,099 cases with 19 being added between Tuesday and Wednesday.

The following are the latest county-by-county case numbers from the ADPH.
