Criminal Justice Teacher Accused of Having Sexual Contact with Student

A 46 year old man who worked in the Career Technical Education Department teaching Criminal Justice at Anniston High School surrendered to authorities on Friday – and was booked into jail on a charge of School Employee Having Sexual Contact with a Student Under the Age of 19, which is a felony and Sexual Abuse 2nd Degree, which is a misdemeanor.

Shedric Bernard Long was booked in at the Calhoun County Jail around 8:00 that morning – he was released a short time later after posting bond of $14,000.

Police said that a student came forward on September 6th alleging that a sexual offense had occurred at the school.  An investigation was launched at that time, and warrants were later obtained.  Long has since been placed on administrative leave from the school.

No additional information regarding the case is being released at the time.
