Deadly Shooting at Mueller Plant in Albertville / UPDATE – Shooter Found Dead from Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound

The person reportedly responsible for a deadly shooting incident taking place at the Mueller Plant in Albertville during the early morning hours of Tuesday – is now dead

According to News 19 TV reports, Albertville Police Chief Jamie Smith confirmed that  one employee began shooting at other employees at around 2:30am – killing two and wounding two others.  That plant, which manufactures fire hydrants and is one of the City of Albertville’s largest job providers, has in the neighborhood of 500 employees; those injured during the incident were transported to Marshall Medical Center South for treatment.

Law enforcement units from a number of agencies, including the Albertville and Boaz police departments, and Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, converged on the facility.

Circumstances surrounding the situation remain unclear at this time, however, it has been confirmed by Chief Smith – that the shooter was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot around 8:30am.  The yet-to-be-identified suspect was found inside a vehicle, on Carlisle Street in Guntersville.
