Deadpool breaks sequel news to…”Good Housekeeping”?

Good Housekeeping/Joseph Lederer(NEW YORK) — On the heels of one of the most clever, and successful, guerrilla marketing campaigns ever, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds is promoting the 2018 sequel as only he would: in an in-character spread in Good Housekeeping

The other guy in the red suit offers holiday recipes like D’s Spiced Nuts, and gives turkey carving tips in typical Deadpool style: “…Finally, with your beautiful breasts set gently on the cutting board, we’re going to carefully slice them against the grain, so that everyone gets a bite of that deliciously crispy George Hamilton-colored skin.”

The issue also comes with a poster for Deadpool 2.  The image is a take-off of a famous Norman Rockwell Thanksgiving painting, except with returning stars Leslie Uggams, who plays Blind Al; Morena Baccarin, Deadpool/Wade Wilson’s love Vanessa; T.J. Miller, who plays Weasel; Karan Soni, who returns as trusty cabbie Dopinder; and another Deadpool veteran, Brianna Hildebrand, who returns as Negasonic Teenage Warhead.

The metal-skinned Colossus is also mugging for the picture, as is series newbie Zazie Beetz as Domino. The painting even has the standard Stan Lee cameo, in the form of a photo on the wall.

Standing behind a turkey platter-holding Deadpool at the head of the table is Josh Brolin, who plays the time-traveling, gun-toting mutant, Cable.

“Deadpool’s persistence to be in Good Housekeeping was impressive…”Jane Francisco, the magazine’s editor in chief said in a statement obtained by ABC Radio. “[W]e came to a compromise. He could appear in one issue, if he promised to stop leaving care packages at our editors’ homes and agreed to maintain a 50-foot distance from the Good Housekeeping offices and our staff.”

Deadpool 2 opens June 1, 2018.
