Centre Police Investigators and the Cherokee County Coroner’s Officer were called to the Sonic restaurant on Friday afternoon after the body of a 26 year old female was found in her car in the back parking lot of the business.
Centre Police Chief Kirk Blankenship said that the victim was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Due to the nature of the case no additional information is being released.
During the course of the incident, there was a multi-vehicle accident that occurred at the same location. The mishap involved three vehicles and there were no injuries reported. Centre Firefighters and Floyd EMS units responded to assist.
