A DeKalb County resident found three of his dogs dead between the days of February 28 and March 5, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said the dogs were found at the man’s home on County Road 414 in the Aroney Community.
The sheriff’s office said that poisoning is suspected due to the resident finding a plate with what appeared to be canned dog food with a granular substance in it on his property.
One of the dogs was taken to the state veterinary diagnostic lab in Boaz and from there, sent to Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine for further investigation.
