DeKalb County Drug Investigation Results in Arrests and Seizure of Drugs and Cash

BAM 5 Drugs 5.6.15A year-long drug investigation in DeKalb County has come to a close, resulting in a number of arrests and the seizure of close to $80,000 worth of drugs and cash.

A search warrant was executed Tuesday (May 5th) at a residence on County Road 51 in the Frog Pond Mobile Home Park. During the search of that home law enforcement discovered approximately two pounds of methamphetamine, with a street value of almost $78,000 in addition to more than $2,200 in cash.

Those taken into custody at the scene included – 26 year old Serena Maria Laundis, 31 year old L.C. Waller, 29 year old Felicia Diane Martinez and 24 year old John Kelcey Whisenant – all of Collinsville – with each being charged with Trafficking in Illegal Drugs.

All four were transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center, where they await setting of bond.

That join operation included the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, DeKalb County Drug Task Force, Ft Payne Police Department, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and Drug Enforcement Unit, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the FBI and the FBI North Alabama Safe Streets Task Force, the Albertville Police Narcotics Division and Alabama State Fire Marshall, along with the Collinsville Police Department.

DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris says that the investigation into the drug pipeline is on-going.
