Sergeant Robin Snider the DARE coordinator for the state of Alabama, recently came to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office to present School Resource/DARE Officer Lieutenant Anthony Bartley with the DARE officer of the year award.

Sheriff Harris says “Lieutenant Bartley started in 1992 at the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office as a jailer he was then he was promoted to Chief Jail Administrator in 1994. He has also worked as a Deputy, and then in 1995 he became a School Resource/ DARE Officer for the DeKalb County School System and worked his way up to Lieutenant School Resource/DARE Supervisor. Lieutenant Bartley has put in a lot of hard work and long hours coordinating the DARE program between all of the other School Resource Officers, the DeKalb County School System, and DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. Lieutenant Bartley has done an outstanding job and this award is well deserved.”
