District Attorney Mike O’Dell Shares His Thoughts on Keaton Verdict/Sentence

District Attorney Mike O’Dell shared his thoughts with WEIS Radio immediately following the sentencing of Vinnie Keaton in Cherokee County Circuit Court Tuesday morning.

Keaton was sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole by Judge Jeremy Taylor.

Keaton was found guilty of capital murder in the 2012 slaying of co-worker Melissa Leanne Hudgins on the campus of Gadsden State Cherokee in November of that year.

Both were employed by an Anniston-based company which supplies custodial personnel to the college. Hudgins leaves behind two young children and a wealth of family members and friends, many of whom were in the courtroom Tuesday as the sentence was handed down.
