District Court Judge Sheri Carver stopped by the WEIS Radio studios Tuesday morning, in order to discuss the Drug Court program in Cherokee and DeKalb counties.

Getting the program off the ground back in 2003 was both a major undertaking, and no easy task, especially when the idea of a “drug court” was relatively new.

Over the last ten years the Cherokee County Drug Court has developed a highly-impressive track record in helping those who have sought help in their battle with drug addiction

There are those who may argue the point, that incarceration is a better deterrent than drug court – however the numbers, especially locally – point in the other direction:
