iStock/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — Domino’s logged its first-ever drone delivery to a regular customer on Wednesday.
Three months after a test flight with the drone company Flirtey, the fast-food company successfully made the autonomous delivery to a couple in Whangaparaoa, New Zealand, which is just north of Auckland.
Footage from the company shows the drone named DRU coming out of the sky before hovering over the house and winching down the goods: a chicken and cranberry pizza — a local favorite — before zooming off back to base.
