Donald Kirby Rowland

Donald Kirby Rowland, age 57, passed away at his home in Cedar Bluff, AL, Thursday October 22, 2020.

He was born in Rome, Georgia, May 26, 1963.

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Troy and Ann Mobley of Rome, and his father, Winston Howard Rowland.

He is survived by the following: his wife Carolyn Early Rowland, to whom he was married for 25 years; daughters Keiley Rowland and Hannah Rosario of Cedar Bluff, AL; brother Corey Rowland of Rome; his parents, Don and Glenda Keil of Cedar Bluff, AL and Saint George Island, FL; mother and father-in-law, Colleen and Franklin Early of Cedar Bluff; two aunts, Ivis Locke of Macon, GA and Audrey Ward of Sand Rock, AL; uncle Jim Ward of Sand Rock, AL; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Kirby became a Christian at the age of ten when we attended Calvary Baptist Church in Rome, GA.

Kirby graduated from West Rome High School in 1981. He worked for Little River Forestry in Cedar Bluff for a number of years before answering the call to be a minister. He served as the pastor of Fair Haven Baptist Church for several years before becoming a youth director and associate pastor at Pisgah Baptist Church in Rome, GA. Kirby was a student at New Orleans Theological Baptist Seminary.

Kirby loved music. He enjoyed singing, writing songs, and playing the guitar and mandolin. In his younger years, he played with the band Steele Horse. Kirby loved many people and had many friends. He will be dearly missed.

There will be a private graveside service for family. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Perry Funeral Home in Centre, AL is in charge of the arrangements.
