Driver In Custody Following A High Speed Pursuit From Alabama To Georgia

AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio reports;

A suspect that crashed near Ridge Street in Menlo, Georgia after a chase by Alabama law enforcement on Monday has been arrested.

According to a report by AM1180 Chattooga County Radio, the suspect was driving a white pickup truck that crashed into a deep ravine.  Early Reports indicated that a passenger may have fled from the scene.

Fort Payne Police, Mentone Police, Dekalb County, Alabama Sheriff’s Deputies and Chattooga County Deputies were all on the scene.

During the chase, a Mentone police officer rolled his service vehicle, a Chevrolet Tahoe. 

The name of the driver has not been released, but was booked into the Chattooga County Jail on multiple felony charges and will be extradited to Alabama. 

It is believed that the driver had a gun when he jumped out of the truck and was tazed by an officer and taken into custody.
