Driver of Big Rig Injured When Debris Crashes Through Windshield on Highway 35 Friday Morning

The driver of an 18 wheeler was injured when an object crashed through his windshield on Highway 35 during the early morning hours of Friday and struck him in the face.  The debris, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report, was apparently thrown by another truck traveling in the opposite direction as the two rigs passed each other around 5:20am just outside of Gaylesville.

The driver of the 2013 International, identified as Darrell Steelman, age 47 from Clarksville, Tennessee was taken for treatment following the incident.

No additional information regarding the extent of his injuries was available.
