Lambert 1000According to Leesburg Police Chief Lanny Ransum – yet another drug arrest has been made, following a textbook example of teamwork between cooperating agencies.

Chief Ransum stated Officers Matt Peek, and Will Clark, from the Centre Police Department, had generated information which they provided to Leesburg Police Officer Joe Johnson who in turn conducted a search at the Leesburg Lodge which turned up suspected amphetamine and other items.

As a result, 49 year old Vernon Glenn Lambert, originally from Rome, Georgia, but currently residing in Cedar Bluff was charged with the Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree – along with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

He’s currently being held in the Cherokee County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing

Regarding the case Chief Ransum stated (quote) “…it’s great that officers can work together to get these drugs, and drug offenders, off of the streets,” adding “when agencies across the county work together effectively, it makes the community safer for everyone.” (end-quote).
