Durango Stolen in Cherokee County Recovered in Neighboring Chattooga County, Georgia

The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department is reporting the recovery of a vehicle stolen out of Alabama.

On Tuesday of this week, a Chattooga County Deputy responded to a 9-1-1 call regarding an abandoned vehicle in Lyerly.  That vehicle, a black Dodge Durango, was found in a remote area on Fullerton Road, which is located south of the Holland-Chattoogaville Road.  When he ran the information on the vehicle, he discovered that it had been reported stolen from a Gaylesville address in neighboring Cherokee County, Alabama.

The vehicle was towed and the sheriff’s office in Cherokee County was notified.
