The body of a man was recovered from a fire Sunday morning in the Coates Bend community of Etowah County. According to a press release from Sheriff Todd Entrekin, the incident occurred after 9 a.m. at a home on Speedy Lane.
The body of a man was found inside. The incident is under investigation. The remains will be sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy.
Also involved are the Etowah County Arson Task Force, State Fire Marshal’s Office, Coates Bend Volunteer Fire Department, Tidmore Bend Volunteer Fire Department, A-Med Ambulance and the Etowah County Coroner’s Office
