EC Waste Is No More – Advanced Disposal is New Garbage Collection Service for Cherokee County

EC Waste is no more – as of January 1st, 2019 Advanced Disposal bought out EC Waste, and they are now officially the garbage collection service for Cherokee County.

Municipal Market Manager Scott Henderson and Site Manager Mark Howington – who’ll be overseeing day-to-day operations – were at Monday’s planning session of the Cherokee County Commission to introduce themselves and give an update on what’s taking place during the changeover process.  They’ve been in business in this area for over 15 years – their home office is in Jacksonville, Florida and they operate in 26 states, and have a total of 23 landfills.  As part of the package they’ve also purchased the Three Corners Landfill.

Howington said they’ve already brought in three new trucks with others on the way – plans are to update the entire fleet.  Also, for the time being – they’ll be staying on the same route system.  The current lock-box system will probably stay in place until next quarter when an updated Advanced Disposal model will be installed.
