Emergency Crews Respond To A Two Car Crash In The Peek’s Crossroads Community / UPDATED

A Centre resident was hurt in a two-vehicle accident on County Road 22 shortly before 2:30 on Tuesday afternoon.  According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report the wreck occurred near the intersection with County Road 16 in the Peek’s Crossroad area and involved a 2006 Ford driven by Alexander Brown, age 23 and a 1981 Ford being driven by a 58 year old resident of Adairsville, Georgia, identified as James Phillips.

Phillips escaped injury while Brown was transported to an area hospital for treatment.  The report noted that Brown was wearing his seat belt at the time the accident occurred.

The cause of that accident remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.

Cherokee EMS and members of the Spring Creek Fire Department along with Deputies from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.
