Etowah County Man Charged with Breaking into Vehicles at Cherokee Rock Village; Property Recovered

Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office investigators have charged an Etowah County resident in connection with breaking into three vehicles at Cherokee Rock Village.

Sheriff Jeff Shaver said those incidents took place last weekend while people were enjoying the park. Investigators have now obtained warrants for 35 year old James Kenny Bryant for three counts of the unlawful breaking and entering of a vehicle, first degree theft – and two counts of third degree theft of property.  Much of the stolen property has since been recovered.

Deputies from Cherokee and Etowah Counties located the suspect in Etowah County, where he was arrested on unrelated charges earlier this week.  He will be transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center, following his release from jail in Etowah County.
