Information has now been released regarding a fatal accident occurring Saturday morning in Southside.
According to police reports – 47 year old Michael Maddox crashed into the living room of a home just before 12:00 noon, after apparently blacking out; his 2004 Toyota Matrix left the roadway on Thompson Road, traveled more than 300 feet and then ran into the living room of the home – the car crashed through the room, exited and then slammed into a tree killing Maddox instantly.
The accident remains under investigation – however police say it has been learned that the victim had a history of seizures.
The homeowner, who was in the kitchen at the time, was uninjured.
