Two Etowah County residents have been arrested on drug charges.
According to Sheriff Todd Entrekin, Edger Jesus Cervantes, age 24 and Zanda Lee Gonzalez, age 22 – were each charged with one count of Drug Trafficking.
Etowah County Drug Task Force Agents, with an agent from the Marshall County Drug Task Force and Boaz Police Department Investigators, executed a search warrant at a residence on Bryant Drive in Attalla and found approximately four pounds of meth along with a hand-gun.
An investigation began when a Boaz Police Officer arrested the pair during a routine traffic stop and found approximately one ounce of meth in their possession at that time.
Both Cervantes and Gonzalez are being held in the Marshall County Detention Center; each will have a cash bond set at $250,000.
