A 21 year old Etowah County man was reportedly beaten by several men last Friday, in response to comments he had supposedly made about them on Facebook.

According to the website al.com the victim was attacked on Kentucky Avenue at around 8:00pm, and was severely beaten by the individuals – one of which was wielding a tire tool while another was armed with brass knuckles.

The man later told police through an interpreter – that the attackers were co-workers of his.

The victim reportedly suffered from bleeding on the brain, had swelling on his face, and required stitches following the assault.

That incident remains under investigation.
