SAND ROCK – WEIS Radio Sports Director Shannon Fagan presented two All-Cherokee County Boys Basketball Most Valuable Player awards at the Sand Rock athletic banquet Tuesday evening.

The first award was for the 2019-20 season, and that honor went to senior point guard Cade Ballenger. Ballenger averaged 13.5 points, 6.5 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.9 steals for the Wildcats (21-11).

Fagan did not have the opportunity to present Ballenger with last year’s MVP honor because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The second award Fagan presented was for the 2020-21 basketball season, and that went to senior guard Garyn Sharpe. Sharpe averaged 16.7 points per game to go along with 4.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals for the Wildcats (24-6).

Special thanks to Jason Howard of Rock Run Awards for the design and furnishing of the awards.
