According to Piedmont Police at approximately 6:10 a.m. Monday, Piedmont Police Officers, Fire Department Personnel, and Rescue Personnel responded to a house fire on Piedmont Cutoff Road.
The fire was reported to 9-1-1 by a neighbor after one resident was able to exit the home and seek help. Another resident, a female, was unable to exit the residence and was found deceased inside the home.
The Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the residence and will be assisting the police department and fire department with the ongoing fire/death investigation.
