Fedex Driver Attacked In Piedmont, Authorities Searching For The Person Responsible

A Fedex driver is recovering from non-life threatening injuries after being attacked while delivering a package in Piedmont. The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help locating the person responsible for the attack. According to Sheriff Matthew Wade, the driver was delivering a package on Rabbittown Road just before lunch Wednesday when he was approached by a man asking for money.

The driver said before he could even respond, the suspect attacked him with a screwdriver. The suspect then ran into a wooded area and has yet to be found. He is described to be within the ages of 30 to 40 years old, blonde hair, and possibly wearing cut off shorts.

The Fedex driver was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for his injuries. If you have any information about this incident, you are asked to contact the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office.
