Fight At An Albertville Business Sends Two To The Hospital And Lands One In Jail

On Wednesday Officers from the Albertville Police Department responded to Southern Parallel Forest Products on Industrial Blvd to a possible stabbing.  Upon arrival officers discovered that 3 employees of the business had been involved in an altercation that resulted in a possible broken jaw, one person with multiple stab wounds and one person in the custody of APD.  The police report states that Alex Wheeler (24) of Carlisle St, Albertville was discovered laying in the parking lot of the business with what appeared to be multiple stab wounds.

He was transported to Marshall Medical Center South and later airlifted to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.  The second person involved was identified as Charles Meade (52)  of 2nd Ave NW, Arab.  He was transported to Marshall Medical Center South and later to Huntsville Hospital, for treatment for a possible broken jaw and injuries to his face.  A third person identified was Jason Smith (39) of Porter Rd, Arab.  Smith was not injured but was taken into custody on active warrants.  The incident stemmed from what was described as a disagreement over a cut air hose in the work place.

As part of the disagreement, Wheeler threw a large bolt striking Meade in the face.  Wheeler and Smith then attacked Meade assaulting him.  As a means of protecting himself, Meade pulled a knife from his pocket and began slashing at his attackers.  As of this afternoon, Wheeler was in stable condition at Huntsville Hospital.  Meade is listed as in stable condition at Huntsville Hospital.

Smith remains in the Albertville City Jail on an Assault 2nd Degree charge with a $5000 bond.  Detectives are still investigating with more charges forthcoming.
