Fire Destroys A Home In Leesburg

Fire Department units from Leesburg, Sand Rock, and Centre responded to the 911 call just after 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoon at a residence on Cherry Ridge Cove just off of Highway 273. The home was already heavily engulfed in flames as the first units arrived on the scene. The occupants of the home were able to safely get out.

Floyd EMS units in addition to Leesburg Police Chief Brent Grimes also responded to the scene. The exact cause of the fire is not known at this time, Investigators from the Leesburg Police Department and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office were also called to the scene.
