Firefighters were back Saturday morning at a home that caught fire Friday afternoon on County Road 424, just off County Road 69 following a restart.

Cedar Bluff, Centre, Gaylesville and Spring Creek firefighters first responded to the home at around 3:15 Friday afternoon.

The single-level home sustained damage mostly to the attic area, where it appears the blaze began, according Cedar Bluff Fire Chief Bobby Joe Stinson.

A firefighter went by to check the residence at around 8 a.m. Saturday and noticed the fire had reignited in the ceiling of the home.

The Cedar Bluff and Centre Fire Departments then responded to the scene.

Homeowner Larry Hollimon was staying with relatives following Friday’s fire and no one was at home when the fire restarted.

He told WEIS Radio News Saturday morning that he is appreciative of the support from friends and people in community and he is thankful that no one was hurt.

He also praised the firefighters for the job they have done.

Hollimon asks that if anyone would like to help, they can do so by making a donation to one of the local volunteer fire departments.
