Firefighters Called To Leesburg Town Hall After Several Offices Found Filled With Smoke

Firefighters were called to the Leesburg Town Hall Building on Sunday morning after the facility and several other adjoining offices including the Leesburg Police Department Headquarters and the Leesburg Medical Clinic were found filled with smoke.

Leesburg Police Chief Lanny arrived at his office just before 10:00 a.m. to find it filled with smoke and quickly radioed for the fire department to respond.

Leesburg, Sand Rock and Centre Firefighters were called to the scene and found that a microwave sitting on top of a stove had apparently caught fire inside the Leesburg Medical Clinic which sits next door to the Police Department.

Firefighters removed both the microwave and stove and quickly extinguished both, ventilated the facility and completed a walk through to make sure no one was inside the building.

No one was injured and the building suffered some smoke damage.
