Firefighters responded to a second structure fire on Saturday night at the same location where a hay barn was destroyed by fire on Friday evening on Alabama Highway 9 North at the intersection of County Road 51 in Cedar Bluff. Cedar Bluff, Centre and Gaylesville Departments were dispatched to the location just before 6:30 p.m. Saturday after 9-1-1 received several calls reporting an additional building on fire next to the first barn.
Cedar Bluff Firefighters arrived on scene to find that building already fully engulfed in flames and a nearby silo also on fire. Tanker units from Spring Creek and Tucker’s Chapel Fire Departments also responded. The exact cause of both fires still remains under investigation by Cherokee County’s Fire/Arson Investigator.
