Firefighters responded to a reported structure fire at a residence on Alexis Road near the East Bypass in Centre on Easter Morning. That call came in just prior to 7:00 a.m. with Centre, Cedar Bluff and Spring Creek Fire Departments responding.
Heavy smoke from the fire could be seen for several miles.
Centre Fire Chief Jeremy Lee told WEIS Radio that no one was inside the home when the fire started and that there were no injuries. He said the cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
Floyd EMS Medics and Centre Police also responded to the scene. We will have more as additional information becomes available.
