Firefighters Respond To House Fire On Highway 68 East In Gaylesville

Gaylesville, Broomtown and Cedar Bluff fire departments were dispatched to the scene of a structure fire at a residence off of Alabama Highway 68 East just after 8:00 p.m. Monday night.

Firefighters arrived on the scene to find heavy flames billowing from the roof of the home.  Firefighters worked for an extended period of time bringing the blaze under control. There were no injuries reported during the fire.

A tanker unit from the Chattoogaville Fire Department out of neighboring Chattooga County, Georgia also responded to provide additional assistance.

Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office deputies were also on the scene, the exact cause of the fire is under investigation.
