Fire Departments from Gaylesville, Cedar Bluff, Broomtown and a Tanker Unit from the Chattoogaville Fire Department out of Chattooga County, Georgia responded to report of house fire at a residence on Alabama Highway 35 near County Road 782 just after 6:00 Saturday morning.
A passerby called 9-1-1 and reported that there was smoke coming from the roof of the home. A Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office deputy in the area was first to arrive on the scene and reported that the home was fully engulfed in flames. According to reports no one was at home at the time of the fire. The exact cause of the blaze is under investigation.
