First Look: Taron Egerton and Jamie Foxx in ‘Robin Hood’

Lionsgate/Larry Horricks(LOS ANGELES) — The first trailer is out for Robin Hood, the latest retelling of the adventures of the swashbuckling hero — this time starring Kingsman‘s Taron Egerton and Oscar winner Jamie Foxx.

The action-heavy coming attraction shows Foxx’s Little John — in this retelling a Moorish commander — training Egerton’s fellow Crusades vet Robin of Loxley in order to take the fight to the evil Sheriff of Nottingham.  “You were a lord, but now you get to become a thief, and I’m going to show you how,” says Foxx, his face dotted with tribal scars.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story‘s baddie Ben Mendelsohn plays the corrupt cop.

The heroes don hoods to hit the corrupt cop where it hurts — his wallet — and in their whole “steal from the rich, give to the poor” quest, Robin is seen performing a variety of death-defying stunts, and firing arrows so fast that Hawkeye from the Avengers movies would be jealous.

The movie, which also stars Jamie Dornan from the Fifty Shades movies, and U2 frontman Bono’s daughter Eve Hewson as Maid Marian, opens November 21.
