Five Gadsden Residents Arrested On Charges Of Trafficking Salvia

Five individuals have been charged with trafficking in salvia in Etowah County, according to Commander Randall Johnson.

  • Jevon Levincent English, 26, of Gadsden, is charged with trafficking salvia and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Misty Walker Willett, 37, of Gadsden, is charged with trafficking salvia and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Gavin Eugene Nelson, 20, of Gadsden, is charged with trafficking salvia and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Savannah Leshea Oswalt, 20, of Gadsden, is charged with trafficking salvia and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Jamal Alexander Schroeder, 19, of Gadsden, is charged with trafficking salvia and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On June 18, 2018, Agents executed a search warrant at a residence located on Ashland Street in Gadsden, AL. The search warrant was based on an investigation originating from an arrest warrant executed on English at the residence earlier in the day.

During the search, agents recovered approximately 263 grams of salvia, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm..

All five suspects are being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on a $101,000 bond.

This investigation is still ongoing and the subjects could face additional state and federal charges related to the firearm and drugs seized.

The Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit, Gadsden Police Department, Alabama National Guard Counterdrug Program, and FBI Safe Streets Task Force participated in the case.
