Five Individuals Arrested Following Complaints From Citizens Of Illegal Drug Activity At Cedar Key Apartments

Several individuals have been arrested following numerous complaints into suspected illegal drug activity at the Cedar Key Apartment complex in Cedar Bluff.

Cedar Bluff officers began an investigation and surveillance on the suspect premises, early Friday morning Cedar Bluff K-9 Officer Chris Vaughn and Officer Seth Hood went to the apartment complex to speak to persons suspected of being involved with the alleged activities.

Officer Vaughn and Hood discovered criminal evidence in plain view, including illegal drugs and paraphernalia. The officers were joined by Cedar Bluff Police Chief Steve Walden and Cherokee County Sheriff’s Investigator Jeremy Stepps.

After identifying the persons present and receiving their consent for search, officers recovered several items of contraband, including methamphetamine,  marijuana, Suboxone, and drug ingestion pipes.

Cherokee County Deputies arrived on the scene and assisted with the arrests and transport of 5 suspects to the county jail on charges including Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.

Those arrested included 34 year old Raymond Eugene Shepard of Centre, 23 year old Jacob Dewayne Roe of Tallapoosa, 40 year old Antonio Bernard Kelly of Gadsden, 33 year old Ciji Nicole White of Cedar Bluff and 62 year old Rita Diane White also of Cedar Bluff. White was additionally charged with Hindering Prosecution.

All suspects are currently lodged in the Cherokee County Detention Center without Bond.
