Five Injured in Two-Vehicle Collision at Blackwell’s Crossroads Wednesday at Noon / UPDATED

A total of five people were injured in a collision on the causeway between Centre and Cedar Bluff at Blackwell’s Crossroads just after 12:00 noon Wednesday.   

The accident involved a 2009 Dodge Challenger being driven by 61 year old Larry Rogers of Centre and a 1996 Chevy S-10 pickup being driven by 18 year old Sabrina Rich of Lafayette, Georgia. 

Rich was airlifted by LifeSaver Helicopter to Huntsville for the treatment of her injuries and one of the passengers in the Challenger, 52 year old Pam Rogers – was also flown to an area trauma center.  The other passenger in that vehicle, 30 year old Ashley Rogers along with Larry Rogers and a passenger in the S-10 pickup, 26 year old Ryan Waters, were all taken to area hospitals by ambulance following the wreck.

Those responding to the scene include Centre Police and firefighters, Cedar Bluff Police, the Cherokee County Rescue Squad, Cherokee EMS and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

The cause of that accident remains under investigation by the Centre Police Department.
