The National Weather Service in Birmingham has cancelled the Flood Warning for the Coosa River at Weiss Dam.
At 6:00 a.m. Tuesday the stage was at 566′ 5″. Flood stage is 567 feet. Weiss Lake fell below flood stage at 5:30 Monday morning.
The forecast is calling for the lake to continue to fall to 565′ 7″ by Wednesday morning and continue to fall over the next several days.
Cherokee County EMA says that there are a number of roadways that remain covered with water. We will continue to provide updates on road conditions throughout the coming days.
