The Floyd County Police Department is seeking information and actively looking for the person(s) responsible for dumping the mutilated body of a dog at a car wash in Lindale.

On Tuesday, WEIS Radio News spoke to Sgt. Chris Fincher with Floyd County Police who gave us some additional information about the case.

Sgt. Fincher told us that the lady who discovered the dog was extremely frightened due to the fact that she was initially uncertain if it was a human body. One of the first officers to arrive on the scene determined that the body was that of a dog.

Sgt. Fincher said that investigators are currently working the case and looking to speak with anyone who may have information regarding who is responsible.
