Floyd County Woman Serving 20 Year Sentence Asking for Modification

Modified 2A Floyd County woman serving a 20 year prison term is asking to have her sentence modified so her children can visit her behind bars.

Michelle Sullins Reynolds was sentenced to ten years for voluntary manslaughter and to another ten years for burglary after pleading guilty to those charges in 2010.

Her co-defendant, Scotty Harper, is currently serving life without parole for the 2004 murder of Michelle Reynolds’ husband – Thad Reynolds.

On August 11th, Reynolds’ attorney filed a motion stating that “as a result of her sentence it has been determined that she cannot be visited by her children, and this is not only a hardship for the defendant but a hardship for the children…”

A hearing has been set for September 16th in the courtroom of Judge J. Bryant Durham.

Michelle Reynolds will not be eligible for parole until 2023.
