Former Centre attorney Rodney Stallings was arrested last Friday (February 28th) on the charges of Theft of Property 1st Degree and Theft by Deception 1st Degree.

He was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center shortly after 2:00pm Friday, with his bond being set at $50,000.  He bonded out less than two hours later.  The 45 year old ex-attorney was also jailed last October (2013) – after being indicted by a grand jury on a First Degree Theft by Deception charge.

According to information in the previous arrest warrant obtained by WEIS Radio News, Stallings was accused of obtaining, by deception, control of $2,500 in checks and/or legal currency which belonged to Larry E. Wright. Jr. – with the intent to deprive the owner of said property.

Following that arrest, he was released from the Cherokee County Detention Center after meeting his $15,000 bond.
