A former candidate for Sheriff in Chattooga County and his wife were both arrested on Thursday evening.

According to docket records from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department, 44-year old William Jerry “Judd” Westbrook, Jr. and his wife, 36-year old Tiffany Rose Westbrook were both charged with simple battery under the family violence act.

“Judd” Westbrook ran unsuccessfully in the 2012 Democratic Primary for sheriff against incumbent Sheriff John Everett and fellow challengers Mark Schrader and Jesse Adams.

Judd Westbrook also serves as an officer of the Chattooga County Juvenile Court.
