A former City of Rome Building Inspection employee has been arrested and charged with a count of Theft by Conversion.
Deanna Dennis-Fain now stands accused of converting more than $121,000 in City of Rome funds to her own use.
The investigation into the matter stretches back to February of last year (2014), and due to the large number of documents to be analyzed the Georgia Bureau of Investigation brought in a Forensic Account to work on the case.
The investigation into the matter is on-going.
