Former Rome Middle School Teacher Facing Felony Charges

Rome SchoolA former Rome Middle School teacher is facing felony charges after she allegedly destroyed a student’s phone and then got three students to lie about it; that, according Floyd County Jail records.  32 year old Kasey Christian Brant Green from Euharlee turned herself in at the Floyd County Jail Tuesday morning.

Warrants indicate that she conspired with three other students to take the phone, and then got them to lie to school officials when asked about the incident.

The phone that was destroyed was valued at more than $500.

She’s facing nine charges—three counts of felony cruelty to children, a party to the crime of theft by taking, disruption of public school, three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and felony criminal damage to property in the second degree.

According to the Rome Middle School website, Green taught English and Language Arts and coached the 8th grade girls’ basketball team at school.

Dr. MIke Buck said Green resigned her position on March 31st, citing personal reasons.

Green currently remains in the Floyd County Jail.
