Former Secretary and Superior Court Clerk Each Sentenced to Four Years Probation

Clerk Facing ChargesA former secretary to Judge Walter Matthews and an ex-Floyd County Superior Court Clerk, have each been sentenced to four years probation after entering guilty pleas last week.

55 year old Carol Corbin of Rome was charged with four counts of false statements – while 51 year old Connie Nadine May of Centre was charged with false statements, two counts of altering public documents and violation of oath by a public officer.

The two had allegedly made false statements regarding records involving the release of two inmates back in March of this year (2014).
