Mary Elizabeth Stevenson was in line to pick up one of her children from the school when she was arrested around 3:30 p.m., said Fort Payne police Chief Randy Bynum. The chief said Stevenson also had another child, who was too young to attend school, in the car with her.

“There could have been many other lives in danger because her actions,” the chief said.
