Four individuals brought in the New Year behind bars, after being arrested on drug charges during the early morning hours of January 1st.

Kyler Ryan Rickard, age 20 and Kara Leigh Valentin-Fernandez, age 41 – both of Centre and Jacob Lee Young, 20 and Rebecca Lynn Norwood, age 51 – both of Piedmont – were charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 

Valentin-Fernandez was additionally charged with Driving Under the Influence.

All four were booked into jail between the hours of 2:30 and 3:00am with bond for each set at $3,500 with the exception of Valentin-Fernandez, whose bond was set at $5,000.

All four currently remain in the Cherokee County Detention Center.
