Four Georgia Residents Hurt in Cherokee County Wreck Saturday

A total of four individuals were injured in a single-vehicle rollover occurring in Cherokee County over the weekend.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report the crash took place at 5:25pm Saturday on County Road 15 – with the driver of the vehicle, 37 year old Josh Day, losing control of his 2010 Toyota approximately eight miles north of Cedar Bluff.

Day, along with all three passengers in the vehicle, 35 year old Jesse Day, and two juveniles, ages eleven and twelve, were listed as being injured. Josh Day was air-lifted from the scene via Life Force Helicopter and was taken to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga while the other three parties were transported by ambulance to Floyd Medical Center in Rome.

No additional information was available regarding the condition of any of those involved in the accident.

All four occupants of that vehicle were listed as being from Summerville, Georgia – all four were wearing their seatbelts.

Broomtown Firefighters, Deputies with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, and Cherokee EMS all responded to the scene.

The cause of that accident remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
