Four Northwest Georgia Residents Arrested on Attempting to Elude Charges in Cherokee County / UPDATED

Four TimesFour northwest Georgia residents were arrested by Cherokee County authorities during the early morning hours of Thursday, and were charged with Attempting to Elude; the four had been involved in a high-speed chase in Georgia, before fleeing into Cherokee County shortly after midnight.

Cherokee County Deputy Dustin Huggins responded, and pursued the vehicle onto Highway 35 where the driver crashed the vehicle into a ditch at which point all four occupants bailed out and attempted to flee on foot.

Those taken into custody include Shannon Mitchell Couzzort, age 31; Heather Marie Jordan, age 27; Kayla Diane Edgeworth, age 25 – all of Rome, Georgia; and Kansas Desiree Gravitt of Waleska, Georgia, also age 25.

They are currently being held for authorities in Chattooga County, Georgia and upon return will face charges there.
